“To say goodbye is to die a little.”
- Raymond Chandler, The Long Goodbye
It was with great and heavy reluctance when we said “enjoy retirement” to the only editor Wavelengths has ever known, Charles Carino.
Charlie brought us an acute focus, unpretentious intellect and balletic enthusiasm for researching and writing about our industry’s trending topics; qualities he blended effortlessly into a working relationship I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to. But I believe that when you say goodbye to one thing in life, when that part of you rests in peace with the past, you say hello to something else that is born anew. With that perspective in mind, we have decided to tone down the technicalities like white papers and bring you more thematic human interest stories from across telecommunications.
Change happens to be a common thread between this latest issue and the subjects it covers. Whether the spotlight is on fiber optic security, FTTh network architecture or marketing B2B telecom companies, great innovation has occurred and I hope you find the articles about them illuminating.
We hope that you enjoy the new Wavelengths Magazine. - Cheers BMW
